The Key To A Better Life
Last night I was considering how to really condense down the essential message of how to live a better life. I looked at the life I am living, which is my dream life. There’s plenty that I could (and sometimes do) complain about if I choose to focus on it, but for the most part I am happy. For the most part, I really love my life.
It’s actually quiet simple to live a better live. It’s literally simple. I mean to say that is the key: simplicity.
Life is simple. Breathe in, breathe out.
You don’t need anything to be happy. Just be happy.
It’s actually:
Just be…happy.
It starts with just being present with that which is.
It’s not actually happiness you are looking for, and it’s not actually happiness that you get when you move into being. It’s contentment. That’s actually what you want. You want to experience the fullness. The only lack you want to feel is the lack of needing anything else.
When you move into a state of being, contentment is the natural result. Contentment is just outside, knocking on your door. But the door opens inward, and when you seek into the world for contentment you are pushing on the door from the inside. It will never open that way. When you finally let go of pushing, and just relax…just be…the door opens and in walks your friends contentment and peace.
Just focus on your breath. Focus on this moment. Become aware of the sounds.
Then close your eyes. Continue just breathing. Open to the presence that is always present.
Do that throughout the day. Have little moments to be expansively aware.
Then take that awareness forward into your world.
Bring the simplicity into your life by asking for the light to be with you and all you do for the highest good, then complete what you have started, keep your agreements (or change the ones you can’t), clear the unnecessary clutter in your environment, keep your communications with others clean, maintain an attitude of gratitude inside of you, and treat others and yourself with compassion and respect.
Life is simple when you live each moment simply. I know life didn’t come with a manual, but it’s actually pretty straight forward once you let go of all your complicated ideas.
I have created my dream life by letting go of everything that isn’t part of that. If you want to live simply, then you must sacrifice the way you complicate things inside of you. The issue isn’t with the world, the issue is how you see it.
