I sometimes like to relook at ancient texts in the context of the spiritual awarenesses and experiences that I’ve had this lifetime. I filter their meanings through my own understanding developed from years and lifetimes of awakening to higher realities.
I recently revisited the second creation story in the book of Genesis about Adam and Eve. One of the most prominent parts of this story is the tree who bears the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil.
In my meditation, contemplation, and study of this biblical text, I explored the allegorical meanings and symbolism related to the consciousness of humankind, the material world versus Spirit, masculine and feminine aspects, the serpent, shame, nakedness, good versus evil, the tree of eternal life, the relationship to Jesus’s story, the relevance to the inner journey of awakening to Soul awareness and God consciousness, among other dimensions to the account.
Here I will focus on good and evil, and returning to paradise. The story of Adam and Eve revolves around the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but what is good and what is evil?
