When I get into the ocean to surf, it doesn’t care what my net worth or my beliefs are, it cares nothing about my race, my pronouns, my politics, my thoughts or my feelings. It doesn’t care if I’m offended by what it’s doing, or even if I get hurt. The ocean does what it does. That being said, it is extremely giving. It provides food and oxygen, a lot of opportunities for fun (like surfing…yay!), as well as amazing beauty.

It would be silly for me to take whatever the ocean does personally. It is up to me to get into sync with what it is doing. It is my job to observe and make the choices on how I will participate with it and in it.

Our bodies are around 60% water. That means we are physically more like the ocean than most anything else. From a body centric view, we could say we are ocean people, or water people. Yet we rarely relate to ourselves as being like the ocean, identifying in all sorts of other ways based on our bodies instead.

Do you think I’m just talking about the ocean?

In the Bible it says that God is no respecter of persons. This has been my experience, and in this way God is very much like the ocean.

The Spirit is moving how It is moving, and you can relate to It however you want, but It doesn’t care how you feel, what you believe, your race or color, how you identify, your nationality, your victim stories, or any other way in which you separate yourself by (over)identifying with things in these lower worlds by way of your ego.

All of this focus on how people identify is driven by the ego and its attempt to be special. So, we separate into groups where everyone in our group reaffirms our belief that our group is definitely better than the others. And we believe it.

I know because I do it too. But the Spirit is no respecter of how special you think you are, no matter what anyone in your group tells you.

Of course, my ego really wished that It would make an exception for me and how special I know I am! :)

Just as our bodies are water, and so we could say we are water people, who we truly are as a consciousness is an extension of God (it’s the same energy), and so we could most accurately identify as God-people.
