One of my favorite holidays in the US is this week: Thanksgiving. I even like the name. Definitely love the food. And there’s no better sentiment.
A day to be grateful. A day to say “thanks.”
So many people have been thoroughly trained to only see what is wrong in the world that they miss out on all the miracles. As the opening quote says, what was once a miracle becomes common.
For most of human existence, the idea that you can turn a knob and clean, hot water comes out would be miraculous. We’ve all grown up with cars and airplanes, but for a long, long time those means of transportation would have been miraculous. Modern medicine? Truly something to be grateful for.
We have advanced our technology and made commonplace many luxuries that most humans throughout history wouldn’t have believed possible, yet we have failed to improve one essential aspect of life without which we put to waste all of our other advancements: our attitude.
